Dearest family and friends,

It is another beautiful Saturday. Evan woke me up at 8:30 (so early for me!) because Adreana and Daunovia were coming to pick up Evan. But they did not come until12:30pm!!!!
I had a really bad headach so I did not go but they all went to the Zoo by bus!!!
Evan was very impressed with the Zoo!
I only went out to the store to get eggs then stayed home.

Tomorrow Carol will pick us up to the church. I am so glad that I don't have to take bus!

Well Sorry that I can't tell you more exciting thing!

Another beautifulday!

Went to the office after lunch. Not much to do again so I helped Sister Scadden. and that was it.

Guess what, now we have a problem with TV!!!
First was microwave oven, then telephone, then now TV!!! What did we do wrong to deserve this!!!

Since I have nothing to wright, here is a joke from our missionary friend.

Kevin had shingles.
Those of us who spend much time in a doctor's office should appreciate this! Doesn't it seem more and more that doctors are running their practices like an assenbly line? Here is what happened to Kevin.

Kevin walked into a doctor's office and the receptionist asked him what he had. Kevin said: "Shingles" So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurancde number and told him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aid came out and asked Kevin what he had. Kevin szaid "Singles" So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical history and told Kevin to wait in the Examination room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked Kevin what he had. Kevin said "Shingles". so the nurse gave him a blood test, a blood pressure test , an elecctrocardiogram and told Kevin to take off all his clothes and wait for the doctor.

An hour later doctor came in and found Kevin sitting patiently in the nude and asked Kevin what he had.

Kevin said'"Shingles". The doctor asked, "where?"

Kevin said, "outside on the truck. Where do you want me to unload'em??

I thought it was so funny. I hope you do too!!

I did not do anything today. Evan left early to take a bus to meet Dunouvia and Adreano. Since it was early and they had to take a bus I did not go.
Evan did not come home until almost 7:00 and exahusted but he had a great time.
Good thing I did not go. They had to walk for so long.

So I was preparing Relief Society lesson (not that I am giving a lesson).

Watched TV and knit some more.

I really miss and love you all.

I hope tomorrow will be bit more exciting. Just going to the office.

Barbara, Pumpkin you made for me sure kept wonderful company. She is getting little bit dirty but I don't care! I love to sleep with her.

Today was a very good day. Danouvia and Adreano came and we all went to the temple to eat lunch then attended 1:30 session. There were bus load of people from Baia (at least 14 hours to get Sao Paulo). There were so many of them sleeping!! There were 5 sisters stood up to get a new name again.
It was a great scession!!!

Then we came back home. Evan and I wasn't feeling so hot. We think we get sick everytime we eat at the temple.

Tomorrow, Evan is going to the Zoo with them. But since we have to take a bus I am not going.
Joey, I do need those patches. Can you mail few? Use the small box to mail. Or even in envelopes.

One of the sister missionary got extra cane so she gave one to me. It really helps but I feel like I am 80 year old lady. No I am not let Evan take picture of me with that cane.

I sure miss and love you all!!!

Dounovia decided not to go to the temple, I don´t know why. So we are going there tomorrow with Donouvia and Adreano.

So Evan came back after lunch I was no way ready to leave. But since we are not going to the temple, I decided to the office. Because Evan told me that Elder Scadden need my help to stuff envelopes. Sure don´t need any skill nor brain but Evan always says "Somebody have to do it!" That somebody is always ME.

Today we went to super market to get cash. Then the guy who were fixing the machine spoke Japanese. He was in Japan for 11 years and married to Japanese lady. So Evan gave a passalong card to him. This was my first time I went to that super market and Evan was so excited to be able to give a card to him. Who knows what is going to happen, right?

I sent you all the right address and hope you guys had the wrong one.
My brain still does not work well after the surgery!!!

It has been so beautiful!! Can't believe it is winter here.

This morning, Evan wanted to go Giovana's ward since she will be confirmed. It was way too early so I did not go.
I wanted to go to my own ward but Evan did not let me to take buses.

I was still not feeling well after I smelled cigaret in the bus.
Evan got back around 1:00 and after we had lunnch, we went for a small walk!
It was so nice.

Wendy wanted me to get Nativity scien from Brasil so we got it. Evan will be sending you the picture and let me know if you want them. We got kids small succor ball key chains.

Gen, you will like Emboo even though it reminds me of Apple Hills. There are so many art things.
No I did not eat anything there. I just bought a bottle of water!!

It was kind a busy day for me.
Evan got potatoes and chicken for us and for another Senior missionary couple.
They sure are great!!

We went for Geovani's baptism today. We took bus and we sat right behind the driver. I was getting sick and smelled chigaret. Bus driver was smoking while he was driving!!! with the door wide open!!
I guess "No Smoking" sign does not applay to the driver.

We went to Emboo ,where reminds me of Apple hill. Tons of small gift stores.
Wendy asked me to get Brasilian Nativity Set so I got one. I wanted to get one for each kid but it was a little bit pricy. Evan will send you pictures of them.

Baptism waw great. The ward we went is Interlagos mission, where Tim served. Poor Evan, the water was not heated so both of them were so cold. Poor thing!!!

Adreana drove me home thank goodness. And Evan wanted to stay for June Festival, or something like that. Evan is going to her ward for comformation tomorrow morning so I am going to the church by myself...... yes, Carol is picking me up.

It is only 6:30 but one activity for a day really makes me tired.

By the way, nooooooo, phone is still not working!!!

Good thing we have a cel phone!! Also the missionary couple who live upstair from us is a medical doctor so that is a great comfort. If something happen, I had no idea where to call. I don't even know what number for 911. Beside we have no phone to call for help!

Diffenetely getting colder!
Donouvia, Adreano and Geovanie are coming for the dinner tonight.
So I have been quite busy cleaning up and fixing.
I do get stressed out when I am having people over.
I need to clean up the bathroom but I can't do it bymyself. Once I kneel down to do the floor, I can't get up!!! Sad, isn't it?Well, I'd better get busy cooking!

Diffenetly it is getting colder but not bad.
I had a headach again all morning so I stayed home and studied Portuguese. My friend let me borrow CD.

last night after I went to sleep, Danuvia, Adreano and Gyovani stopped by. For some reasons they really like us and come over. I really love them also.

They are coming over for the dinner this Saturday and I am already little streeded out.

I started knitting another muffler because Adreano wanted me to knit one for him.

It was so good to talk to Everylyn and Bill and joey and Pumkin. Even though Punkin ignores me completely. I hope she will not forget about me.

Tomorrow is Thursday so I would like to go to the temple but if Evan wants to go with Patty, I can't. Becuase they will go the latest session.

No we still do not have our phone. I think they forgot about us.

It was little cooler today but not bad at all.

I woke up with headach but I did go to the office. Evan told me I have tons to do but he was in the meeting most of the afternoon. So I helped Sister scadden little bit and I am going to study Portuguese a little.

It looks like it is going to rain so I sure hope we can go home before it started raining!!!

I went to the Japanese store and yarn store all by myself today. it was the first time I did that all by myself. Evan does not want me to go out by myself because my balance is not that great. I return one skin of yarn and get 2 other colors.Of course I used Google translate and wrote it down. Somehow they exchange it even though they said no first time.

It was a slow day.
I did not feel so great and Evan told me that he does not have anything for me to do. So I stayed home.
I took another nap and am finally feeling better.

I fixed salmon tonight and Evan really liked it. But I almost burned it and there were smoke all over.
Good thing we don't have fire-alarm. (We now know that we have no fire alarm!!)

Last night, Danubia and Adreano and Giovana came. They just showed up and Evan was not home. But somehow they understood some English so it was OK.
I just love them and Adreano told me "I just love to come here!" over and over. I absolutely love him!

We wish they get married!!!
Giovana is getting baptised this Saturday and she wants Evan to baptise her. She just love Evan and kept touching his shirt. Co cute!!

I gave one of the scarf I knitted so I have to keep making more. Now Adreano wants one!

We could not get a hold of Carol who usually take us to the church. So we left early and took  a bus.
I was so tired, after the sacrament meeting, we took bus back again.
And I took a nap. I slept until almost 5:00!! I hope I can go to sleep tonight.

Evan was not home when I woke up and I remember him saying he is going out with Elders so I guess that what he is doing. I think that what he said!
He met this lady at the shopping mall and she wanted lesson from Elders! Isn't that wonderful? He is such a great missionary!!!

I was not feeling great today so I only ate rice and eggs.

Hope all is well and you are havung good time with Bill and Everlyn. I miss them!!!

It was another beautiful day.
We went to the temple today. It is always so special to see the temple president and his wife.

Evan went to get potatoes and roast chicken today but they were all gone!!
We were so disappointed.

Evan went out with other senior missionaries to somebody's house. It is some kind of June celebration.
But I did not go. For me. One activity a day is just perfect.

Last night was another crazy, loud night due to the succor game.
Fireworks and people yelling and screaming!!!

Well hope We can talk to my family tomorrow.

It is so warm today. I only have one sweater and that is all. Can´t believe that we are in the middle of winter.

Last night, I could not go to the temple. 8:30 session just does not work but Evan wanted to go that one because Patty and her husband can only make that one.
He is going to take me to the temple tomorrow Saturday.

Tonight for sure Danuvia is coming to practice piano. I hope she will come ealy.because I get headach around 4-5:00.

I am so tired and sleepy.
Everynight, we hear the yellings and fireworks for succugames since we care fairly close to the succor ground. They are soooo loud. It is not easy to sleep.

We went to the church store this afternoon which is located on the ground level. Evan said the price for the garments are unbeliebably cheap. They are making them right next to the store. Maybe that is why. If you need garments, let us know.

Well I´d better go back to work!!

I wanted to go to the temple this evening( early session) but Patty and her husband will not make it until 8:30.It is way too late but I decided to go with them. Evan really wanted me to go with him. So I stayed home to take a nap.

Evan went to Eldorado shopping center to try to get melatone. I hope he can find it.

Today is so warm, almost hot. It is hard to believe that it is in the middle of winter!!!

It was s beautiful day and warm!!
After Evan returned from the office, we went to Eldorado shopping center. I was hoping to get some true crim books but they had none. I do not like novel. They have to be true stories.
I also needed Melatone 3mg but they did not have it either. Everybody said,"Oh, you can get any medicine in Brasil!" But no, I cannot even get Melatone.

We had lunch at the food court and it was good but there were so many people there. On Wednesday!!

The Sinior missionary couple who live upstairs, brought us wonderful dinner. They are so nice.
She is diabetic but loves chocolate.

No we still do not have our phone. What is going on here in this country. Half of the time Elevator don't work and escalators at the shopping mall never worked.
Some Americans with the technich for those can sure make money here.

no we still don't have our phone fixed. they keep telling us that they will call as soon as possible,
I helped Sister Scadden all afternoon for PEF.

It was really nice and warm today. If this is the middle of winter then I can handle it without my fur coats.
We still don't have the package Amy sent to us. So annoying!!! I need Melatone!!!

I am so disappointed that Tim and Jen will not come here until October!!!
Dunovia said she will come today to practice piano but she didn't! That is ok I was too tired by the time I came home.

 Most people are back from Manaus temple dedication.

No, no one came again but I decided to go to the office after lunch.
They said they will call us and let us know when they can come,right!!!!

It was good to see people in the office. Many of them went to Manaus Temple dedication.
And some people took a small vacation to Eguas Fall (SP??)!

It rained so hard and thunder was roalling today and I did get scared.Dunovia wanted to come to play piano this afternoon but rain was so hard that she cancelled, she is coming tomorrow instead.

It was a quite Sunday. Evan went to different church  early so I did not go with him.

I was going to nearby church but I had a headach and also they don't have translator so I did not go.

Donuvia and Adreana went to our ward just to see if I were there. So they came by to our place after the meeting. They are such a cute couple and I love them so much.
He is a very nice looking handsome boy and we are hoping that they will get married.

Once again I have to wait for the tel guy tomorrow. but I have no faith that they will come. It has been
more than 10 days without tel.

Cloudy and cold day.

I had my hair colored and highlited. And had a cut. But it is hard to tell them what I want. I am not very happy about the result. But sweet Evan kept tellng me "I really like it!!"

Evan went to Patty's husband's birthday dinner tonight. It started at 9:00 and it is way too late for me. So I did not go.

Tomorrow is very special. Manaus Temple dedication. So we are going to 4:00 at church to see the dedication. They can't all go at the same time so have assigned us for 4:00 session.
Evan wanted to go to Dounovia's ward also because there is a 11 year old boy who is not a member. So he cannot get into the chapel. We have to have temple recomend to be at the meeting. And Evan is so worried about that boy so he wanted to go to their ward to be with him. But I am not. We have to be there at 8:00! That boy don't have parents and his grand parents don't let him baptised. Evan is so sweet like that!

Well, hope your weekend have been nice one.

Guess what? Noooooo Telephone guy did not come today either. That means they will not come for the weekend for sure.

Dunovia was supposed to come here to practice piano at 4:00. Evan said a half of people in the office was gone. Some went to Manaus temple opening for Sunday.
We get to see the opening celemony on Sunday at our chapel but we have to bring our temple recomends! Hope we won't forget that. So Evan came home early from work and as of now (5:30) she has not showed up. It really is amazing that they do not keep appointment time at all.
I guess this is Brasilian way and I can't get used to it.

It rained all day and has been quite cold. Thanks to that tiny heater!!!
Everytime we have to use microwave oven or iron, we have to turn off the heater.

It is some kind of holiday here so Evan was home with me all day.
It has been 5 days since I left our apt waiting for the guy to come to fix our phone.

Noooooooo. He did not come and I have to wait again tomorrow. It really is annoying!!!

It was nice to get out for change today. Evan took me to Eldorado shopping mall and I got two books and nice lunch. It was fun going out with Evan even though It rained all day long.

Lunch was really good. I ate tons of vegitables. I really needed them.

So over all it was a great day.

Finally it is getting cold and is raining today.

Nooooo.Telephone guys did not come today either. They said Friday. We will see.
At lease our office let us use their cel phone.
But once again I was waiting for him all day.

She wants to come on Friday. But we will see.

Tomorrow is holiday here so Evan said there was no one at the office.

This is my seconday stuck in my apartment waiting for a guy to come to fix our phone.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. He did not come and I am quite upset as you can see.

So, once again, I have nothing to write.
Last night, Dounovia and her niese came by for FHE. She was such a cute girl and she wants Evan to baptise her!

Pray for me that someone will come tonight and fix our phone.
Yes, I am so mad and upset.

Today is our 6 month Anniversary for being out on Mission. I will be home by next June 5th!!
Can't wait.

They told us to wait and stay at home so I did all day.
But no one show up.

Tonight we are having Home Evening with Dunauvia and her neice. But I did not know what she is bring ing her. Due to no telephone he could not let me know.

Somehow Brasilian is such a easy going people that one extra people is no problem.
It is no problem but I do get stressed out such changes at the last minutes.

I have no idea what we are going to do tomorrow. I hope they will fix out phone tomorrow/

Today was Stake Conference but
Carol who always pick us up could not get in touch with us because of our phone. So I did not go.
Evan got up really early and went to Patty's ward. They don't have translator so I could not go. Evan had tons of fun.

Well I will be really mad if we don't get the phone working!!!

Please pray for us. Also Amy Edgren sent me a package long time ago spending tons of money but we still have not receive it. I am so stressed about that also.

Well so I had a quiet slow Sunday. Evan was gone until3:00 and had so much fun.

It was another perfetly beautiful day.
I hope this will last for next month.

We went to the temple and met with Danouvia and her friend, Adreano (boy but not boy friend)
He is so nice and also very nice looking and we are hoping the they will get married.
Evan went through for her grandpa today and he was very emotional. I think I told you that he did baptism for him last night.

We really are lucky that we made so many very close friends but they are much younger than us. I guess they consider us as their parent.  Especially Danouvia does not have dad since she was small and is the only member in her family.

So we are talking about having Family home Evening here together. We will see.

I had another headach all day so I did not go to the Sat evening session of Stake conference.

By the way, we still don't have our phone working!! I am getting really mad. I hate it when things don't work. Since we got here, we had a problem with microwave oven, heater and now telephone.I guess we don't get it fixed until Monday. I hate it when things don't worK!!!!! I really do!!!!

only good thing today was we went to the temple.
I really love to go there.

No, our phone is till not working! Yes I am so mad!!!!! I have been praying for it to work .
Everything takes forever to fix things like those. I have been quite upset about it.

The phone company told us to be at home at 4 tll 8 . He did show up cbut could not fix it. Why was he here!!!

Today was Dunovia's last day at work and she has been so sad. Then she and her friend stop by tonight. I was not even dresses!!! Evan gave her a blessing and she was so happy. I had no idea what he was saying but sure felt the spirit. Dounovia conciders us her parents and call me Mommy.

I hope telephone works tomorrow. Because of it I could not go to the temple this evening so Dounovia and we are going tomorrow afternoon.

Pray for us that the phone will work tomorrow. Please!!
