Dearest family and friends,
It is for sure getting cold!!!
I had to take winter clothes out today.
Today was not day off but most of the people took day off since tomorrow is Holiday.
But Evan went to the office and told me that no one was there including me!
He came home for lunch then left for the office again. He said he has so much to do that he wanted to catch up. But he is for sure not going tomorrow.
It rained almost all day long and very cold. I thought they are going to provide heater but they are not. So we have to buy it soon before it gets way too cold.
My tummy was still not great so all I ate all day was Oatmeal!!
Well hope all is well and I guess summer is starting in your area!

Today I had another attack in tummy so I did not go to church.
Good thing I did not go because Evan took wrong bus again back home and he had to walk for long time.

Evan was watching Succer game this afternoon but Sao Paolo lost!

Dearest family and friends,
It was Saturday and I decided to do through clean up of both bathrooms. I was on my knees and hurt them bad. I could not get up. I had to call Evan to come over to help me get up. We were laghing so hard because we sure are getting so OLD!!!!
Evan went to the store and got the best baked potatoes which sells only on Saturday.
They were good. Evan asked how they made it but he did not understand it. But he saw same potaoes at the different store. They were cooking potatoes (Small) under the roast chicken. In other wards, Potatoes were cooked under the roasted chicken with all the drippings. no wonder they were good.
I hope Amy's knee is doing well.

Dearest family and friends,
Definately it is going to be colder!!! I don't know how long we can stand this weather without heater. We will see.
I just found out that our friend ,Donovia, is quitting in June. I will be so sad. She is so cute and so eager to learn English.
Today I was helping Evan's reocord sheet. But his hand writing is so bad that I got headach!!!
Sometime He cannot even read his own.
We called another new project which we might work on. We will see.
We are finally feeling better!!! and started eating.
I finally bought yellow yarn for Lily. I hope she will like it.
We are expecting rainy weather this weekend but several people are going to Mountain for the one day vacation. No we are not going. I just found out that it takes 2-1/2 hours of driving! Evan did not even want to go because the weather is going to be rainy and cold.
I guess we will clean the apartment. It gets so dusty.
Nothing exciting happening around here. Evan has fixed his E-mail so he is very happy. He can now accept mails.
I still have headach from reading Evan's hand writing so will close it now.

We had lunch at home again because we are affraid to eat at the temple, since both of us still are not feeling 100%.

Dearest family and friends.
I just got back from the temple. Patty and her husband were going to be with us but they did not make it on time. At least we saw each other at the front waiting room..
I was so embarrased at the temple today. I kept two locker keys. And I opened one and there was nothing in it.
All the sister came to see and wondering what happened. And guess what! I had another key in my pocket. Thank goodness, there was a English speaking sisters to trying to figure out..
I was so embarrased.
I normally go to bed by 9:00 but it is already 10:30 so I am going to get ready to sleep.

Dearest family and friends,
Today, Evan told me that those two sisters will be eating lunch at the temple and would like us to be there. So I was not feeling well but I forced myself to go. I don't know what made me sick but I got sick after I ate. And those sisters did not show up!!! Lately if I use any oily thing or meat (Beef), I get sick. I have no idea what to eat!!!
So I came back home and am going to study portuguese using the cd's.

Tay is just fine, but we sure had a scare. I had to take her to the ER for a concussion. She went down hard and whiplashed. Doug had just returned from a conference covering concussions, and he said whiplash is a very common culprit. He said that women's soccer was second only to football for the most concussions. She had a headache, nausea and dizziness so they concluded she has a mild one. Ten days of rest and she should be good to go. She's missing 2 huge games against the Wolfpack (their rivals) to make it to the state championship and her first track meet. You would've thought id told her she'd never walk again... Bummer cuz she was playing so well. It happened in the first half of the 2nd of 3 games. But not before she headed to out of the box!!!
Zoe had a tournament in Carson city and won her last game onSunday. John says she is getting stronger every game. She finally said that she loves soccer.
I am so worried about her. Becuse I hear so many problems with football players and succor players hitting their head so hard! I am constanly worried about my kids and grandkids.
Evan is so eager to learn the language that he goes to the office 7:30 to have breakfast with other Brasilians. If I can speak half of what he can, I would be so happy!!

Dearest family and friends,
It was a great day. Elder Holland came to talk to us. He is so great and I love him. Something about
General authority!!! They for sure radiate special love.
He thanked us over and over for the good works we have been doing. I assume I was included.
It was over by 5:00 and he was going to talk to young people at 7:00. And there were long line already waiting to get in.
Today one of the sister cooked lunch but I did not want to go. Becuase it would be beef stroganoff, which I ususally like but not the way they fix here. Evan told me it was good thing I did not come. Beef was cooked in ketchap! and even Evan did not like it.
I was so excited about Jonathan!!! We told our boss to guess where he will be serving. And he guessed it. He said there are lots of Portugues speaking people in Boston well. we will see..
Well I was told that there are lots of Japanese here. And my Japanese will be very handy. Yes there are tons of Japanese but none of them speaks Japanese.
It is diffenately getting cold outside. And we have no heater!!! I guess I have to buy it. We will see.

Dearest family and friends,
It was so good to talk to Joey, Amy and the Starley's. Especially Jonathan. He got stright As the last semester and 3.89. . I really am proud of him.
It has been quite cool today. I had to wear sweater! I guess summer is over and It was not bad at all.
Guess what I had to do at RS today. They asked me if I play piano. So I said very little I should have said NO!!!but they wanted me to play. Can you believe that? I better practice piano since we have piano in our apartment.. But I don't think they will ask me to play again.
Again the girl who told us she would pick us up every Sunday but she did not. I can't figure that out.
We were invited to the member's home for dinner but I got sick so I did not go but Evan did. I hope he had a good time. He has been gone about 3 hours so I guess he is having a good time.
I know winter is coming because Gardinia is not blooming! No more gardinia!!!
Glad to hear that Amy Ray's knee does not hurt too much. But she might have to have another surgery if it does not heal properly. Thank you for the people who brought dinner to them.

It is saturday and I got up late!!! I love

We went to 2:00 temple session. So nice to be there to see so many people I already know. I cannot communicate but big smile does it all!
It is getting cold lately. I had to wear sweater to the temple today. I guess summer is over and it was not bad at all.
Well, I am going to get ready to go to bed since I have to get up for the church tomorrow.
I hope Carol will pick us up. I hate to take bus!!!

Dearest family and friends,
Amy Ray had a knee surgery last night and they said it went very well. But she has crutches and can't walk for a month. It will take 9 months to completely healed!!! Poor girl.
Elder schenk is doing Physical therapy and it sounds like he is doing lot better but he still cannot see. It is a miracle that he is still arrive!!! His parents wanted to be with him for few hours before he dies. And now he is back hom doing Rehab,
Today we went to lunch at Butanta with Dunovia and another girl. It was fun being with young girls. Donuvia is single and she saw a picture of Tim behind my desk and asked Evan if he is single. She was very disappointed!!!
I got some yarn so I can start knitting for grandkids. They can chose their color when they get them.
Next Monday we are having a special devotion and Brother Ballard is coming!!! I am so excited.
It is the best blessing being a missionary to have General Authority so close!!!
Our kitchen light broke today but the guy came from our office to fix it!!! Did not have to wait for hours and we did not have to pay!!!!
Tomorrow is Saturday and I am thinking of having lunch at the temple then go to the session. I have no idea what Evan wants to do.

Dearest family and friends,
I woke up with headach this morning so I did not go to work.
Evan went to the temple for lunch with other friends. Her name is Dunovia(??) and really sweet and beautiful girl. She is planning to go to US so she really love to practice
English with us. Any way she is the only single girl on our floor.
Yesterday, Dunovia was really friendly and huggin
Elder Scudden. Then....his wife said to Evan "Boy she sure likes to flart!" He could not believe it. We were laughing so hard because he is not a good looking guy. I guess his wife thinks he is good looking. That is good. But Evan and I could not believe it!!!
Evan said there was nothing I could have done at the office today. That is kind a sad comment!!
He said they had my favorite fish at the temple!!! Too bad that I missed it.
Today I saw mosquito flying in the room so I was running like crazy trying to killi but I missed it. Oh well that is my todays excercise!!!

Today marked 4 months in Brasil.
No my language is not getting better at all.
Today was a good day at the office becuse I had a special assignments so it was fun.
Hardest thing is when I have nothing to do.
Patty and her husband called tonight and Evan went to the temple with them. It was too late for me. I like to go Friday afternoon. That is the best time!!!

Dearest family and friends,
Maybe it is not funny to you guys but Evan and i was laughbg so hard today.
At the office I was trying to read someone's hand writing. Brasilian do write differently.
And I could not read it so i said really loud "Who wrote this!!!" Then Evan started laughing telling me it was Elder Rocha's. He works with us in the same room but fortunately he does not understand
any English.
We had baby shower for one of the girl on our floor and they provided lunch. I was not sure what they are going to serve, so I ate my lunch at home and it was the right decision. Wvan is the one told me to eat lunch at home.
Today I sent out close to 50 E-mails and 99% of then was returned. No clue why that happened.
Aiko sent me some package but it was returned. Brasilian are affraid of nuclear affect from Japan. Can you believe that?
Evan got dry laichee and I did try. I am not craisy about them but not bad.
Well take care you guys.

Dearest Family and friends,
It was a nice cooler day. Ususally a girl in our ward pick us up to the church but we could not get a hold of her today. I was so nosiated to take that thundermountain jet coaster bus. So I stayed home.
On the way home, bus did not stop at our station so Evan had to take another one to go home. He said he was so glad I did not go.
We kind a figure out why I am sick all the time now.
1. When we brush our teeth we are supposed to rinse our mouth with treated water. Evan told me that is OK if we don't. So I have not doing that. but he was using treated water to rinse and did not tell me while I was using tap water.
Also he told me to just wash dishes with tap water so I have been doing that. And Evan was wrinsing his plate and cups with treated water right before he eats. He did not tell me either.
So I will try from now on to use treated water to rinse my mouth. At least I don't drink tap water.

Last time he went to the temple, vail worker was Elder Rocha who works in our office . and he was wondering who is this guy with spashish accent? And it was Evan.
He speaks really well though.

I downroaded (Evan) Portugues lesson CD's today. I am going to study that from now on. I am so sick and tired of not be able to say anything!!!
The first lesson is "I am sorry. I do not understand Portuguese. I speak English. Do you?" Well I know how to say that very well cus I say that all the time.
It was a nice cooler day. Ususally a girl in our ward pick us up to the church but we could not get a hold of her today. I was so nosiated to take that thundermountain jet coaster bus. So I stayed home.
On the way home, bus did not stop at our station so Evan had to take another one to go home. He said he was so glad I did not go.
We kind a figure out why I am sick all the time now.
1. When we brush our teeth we are supposed to rinse our mouth with treated water. Evan told me that is OK if we don't. So I have not doing that. but he was using treated water to rinse and did not tell me while I was using tap water.
Also he told me to just wash dishes with tap water so I have been doing that. And Evan was wrinsing his plate and cups with treated water right before he eats. He did not tell me either.

Dearest family and friends,
Last night was a bad night. Evan fall asleep on the couch so he came to the bed around1:00 and woke me up.
I had peanutbutter sandwiches for the dinner so I did not feel great. I woke up and watched TV for a while.
I was kind a sick all day today. I really have to be careful what to eat nowadays.
One of the Brasilian sister brought us dinner. It was crape. But the problem is the filling. Chicken and bananas. I had to ask Evan not to force me to eat. That just did not sounds good.
We stayed home all day except Evan went to shopping and got some more sweets!!
He also got baked potatos(small ones) and they were soooo good. He also got chicken but I could not eat it. For some reasons, I cannot eat chicken anymore.
Tomorrow one of the member is going to pick us up to the church!!! Lucky!!! No bus ride!!!
That Elder flew home yesterday!!! Amazing!!! We are all so grateful!

Dearest family and friends,
It was another quiet day. After lunch I went to the temple. It was a small session but I saw several friends there. So frastrating not be able to say anything except, hi! How are you!!!
Evan did not go because he went last night with Patty and her husband. I went back home after the temple becuse Evan told me there is nothing I can do today.
Yes, I did get One big gardinia. I only took one!
I tried to study Portuguies this afternoon but it is so hard to do.
Tomorrow is Saturday but no idea what Evan is planning to do.
I think I will stay home trying to study Portugese.
I hope it will get cooler soon. Becuse it was a hot day!!!!
I saw another catapiller and this one was ugly one too. All black and small black needle is covering body all over!
I really get nervous walking under any trees! Evan think they are cute!!! Of course he does!!
I am already tired!!

Dearest family and friends,
It was a good day. New Missionary couple from Provo moved in to the apartment above. He is a doctor and is a return missionary from Brasil.
His wife does not speak the language so we do share our feelings.
She is not healthy and we are so much alike. I finally have someone I can complain!
It is very cool tonight, thank goodness!
Patty called just now and they are going to the temple so Evan is going with them also. Evan and I are planning to go tomorrow.
We had sandwiches tonight: Salami and ham.
I am getting so tired , I don't know why.
So I will send another blog tomorrow. Hope it will be little bit exciting than today!

Dearest family and friends,
I did not feel good this afternoon so did not go to the office. Evan said it was good thing I did not go because the work he was planning for me to help could not do. I would have been bore to death. He had to do something else.
It is 4:00pm right now and it has been raining so hard for about 30 minutes! I never seen it this hard. Once again the street is like a river. I hope Evan can cross the street OK.
This morning for some reason, the mat in front of the door was gone. But when I checked right now it was there!!! No idea what happened.
I studied Portugues today but I have already forgotten all.
I see poor lady across the street without umbrella and soaking wet!!! No I am not going out to help her. If I do, Evan will kill me.
I hope all is well and I miss you guys so much and I LOVE YOU ALL!

Dearest family and friends,
We have a great news about that Elder. He is flying home tomorrow!!! He still cannot see anything but can communicate. And doctors think he can handle flying home to Utah.
His parents came and hoping they will be able to be with him even two hours before he dies. Yes, it is miracle and we are so excited!!!! It will still be a long way for recovery but it is amazing!!! HF sure protect missionaries!!!
Another good news for me was I saw that cute Shittsu, Barron, outside. He is so cute and friendly!
His owner works at our office in the same room.
It was so good to feel and touch real dog!!!
I miss Punkin so much!!!
Today, Evan was so busy and I helped him but not much I can do. All I do is I dictate what he tells me.
They were all about orphans and it does get depressing.
Evan bought some sweets again. Filled donuts. No I did not try them.
I can hear Evan watching Succor game. He watches every single night. Then I just disappeared into my computer room.
Last night I found huge Cockroach in our bathroom again! It is always I am the one find them. Evan put his shoes and samshed it. It sounded like it popped!!! Yack!!! I hate them.

Dearest family and friends,
How was your Easter? Hope you all had a wonderful time.
Unfortunately I got sick that night so I could not go to church. I ate too much chocolate!! Feel sorry for me?
Today I had to go to the office by 8:00am. I usually go just the afternoon. But it was my turn to give a spiritual talk so I had to get up early. As I mentioned before. I did it in Portugues. Everybody told me that my pronounceation was so good. Whatelese can you say. But everybody told me I did a good job including Evan.
I felt good about it.
I was so tired all morning but I had to help Brother Scadden today then Evan.
We came home for lunch and I stayed home.
Good news! We found vacume cleaner!!! and It works. Nor more brooming!
Amy Ray, Joey's wife has to have knee surgery on the 19th and he told me that MRI revieled worse than original diagnosis. I wish I could be there to help but...I can't. I really appreciate if you guys can call them and help them while she is healing.

It was so good to talk to the Edgrens, Cheney's and Tim and Jen.
I missed talking to the Starley's and Joey and Amy.
Evan bought very good chocolate and I ate only 2-1/2 small pieaces of chocolate after 9:00pm last night and got so sick and could not go to sleep until 3:00. What a night!!!
So I could not go to the Church today. Evan said even though it was
Easter, it was fast and testmony today.
It has been quite warm today but Evan went for a walk. He is so good about that.
Tomorrow morning at 8:00, I have to give a spiritual talk in Portugues!!!
Wish me good luck!! I have to practice tonight!!!

Dearest family and friends,
Today I had a worst three hours this afternoon. I went to color my hair but Evan could not go.
So I had dictionary and trying to tell them as much as I can. I felt so lost!!!!Not one person spoke English.
Evan went tot the temple becuase Paty called and she wanted Evan to go!
I was at the hair place for three hours for color and highlight!!! I was dying and so hungry!
Two missionary sisters came with me but one is Brazilian so we could not communicate and the other one was American who don't speak Portugues!!! What a day!!!
Tomorrow is Easter!!! Hope you guys will all having great one!!

A Great Day
We can't hold back the tears. Tears of joy, they are! Steven had the opportunity of being the temple escort for one of Elder Schenk's very good friends who has his own mission call, and leaves soon. The Sao Paulo temple is beautiful and it was a privilege to be there in Elder Schenk's stead. Britten responded to doctors, nurses, Mom and Dad! He answered yes or no questions by nodding his head and giving thumbs-up! He sat up in a chair next to his Mother for 3 hours. Light fevers still persist, but yesterday's cultures still look good. Miracles occur today! We know, and so do most of the hospital staff in his unit. There is no denying the Hand of The Lord in the events of the past 20 days! We continue to be grateful to all of you for your prayers and support. We still have a long way to go. With our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ, all things are possible.

Today people in our office got huge chocolate eggs and we all shared together.
they were huge!!!
Brazilian sure likes chocolate!!!.
The market store was filled with those big chocolate eggs. Some is about 50cm high and about $45.!!
It was a hot hot day! and the temp did not go down even at night. I really hate that!!
Tomorrow is day off and Evan wants to do something but does not know what!!!
We worked on finding the orphanege which might be able to use our help.
I heard Tim and Jen might come here sometime soon. I'd better start the "want list"!!
Can't wait!! Evan said he can bring anything except Punkin. If he brings Punkin, I would not leave our apartment! That is true.

Happy Easter to you all.
No we have no plans but I am not fixing anything!!
Today I was helping entering Evans informations into the form but his handwriting was so bad that by the time I finished, my head was pounding!!! So we came home and did not go to the temple.
We have a day off on Friday so we are going to the Temple on Friday. I have no clue what kind of holiday that is. I guess it is related to Easter.
Evan got the huge donuts with sweetest cream inside. But it was NOT good!! Again he insisted I try but just looking at it, I knew it is not good.
Nothing special is going on today but glad it is over.
Again there were so many people came to our office just to get chocolate today!!! They sure love chocolates!!
Evan is watching soccer game again!!!

Dearest family and friends,
We went to the office of Kodomono-ie for mentally challenged adults.
It wa so far away and I got car sick because I did not use a patch which Joey gave me.
It was touching to see the video of those people who looks so happy even though they have nothing.
They were very happy to have us there and be able to help them.
It is amazing what church does. Out division is Humanitalian wearfare and we get certain amount of budget to spend each year. We are in charge of find the places where need our help.
People there spoke Japanese but they prefer Portugues. But I did understood lots of them.
We were supposed to go to our other missionary sister's birthday but we were too tired. Also they called us and told us that the restaurant was closed!!!
Good thing we did not go.

It is getting quite cool lately . They said it is going to be very cold in July and August.
On the way home, I picked two more gardinias at the temple ground. Do you think I should not? The thing is I don't feel bad at all.
Joey do you think we can grow them in Reno? I sure hope so.
Evan is watching Succor game again. Yesterday, Sao Paulo was loosing 0-1 then...... amazingly they won 4-1!!! You should see how happy dad was.
We had a wonderful sandwiches for lunnch at home. We made them ourselves. We found the great rolls and I am very happy about that!
Tomorrow we are going to another mental patients care house so I have to use ear patch Joey sent me long time ago. So that I dont get car sick. Thank you, Joey.

Dearest family and friends,
It was a great day doing nothing except watching conference. Like yesterday, I watched in English and he watched in Portuguese.
It was nice talking to Joey, Amy, Brandon, Moe and Ty.
It ghelps me so much to see you and talked to my family.
Evan is watching Succor game and Sao Paulo is loosing and he is not quite happy about that.
Joey, seriously you have to have Punkin on diet. She has bad hip connection and getting fat is not good.
Please don't feed anything fatning!
I am not exadulating when I say everything is so sweet!!! Ask Cecilia or Tim. Everything is so sweet. Evan continues to ask me to have a bite and I hate that. Because they are either coconut flavor or pure sugar.
Well nothing to report or write anymore. I know it is getting boring but weekend is like this. Evan went to the office to pick up something and I asked him to get gardinia but he didn't. I guess I have to do that tomorrow. I really hope they have no video camera outside. Lady missionary holding punkin picking gardinia as soon as they bloom is not great. It was a great day doing nothing except watching conference. Like yesterday, I watched in English and he watched in Portuguese.
It was nice talking to Joey, Amy, Brandon, Moe and Ty.
It ghelps me so much to see you and talked to my family.
Evan is watching Succor game and Sao Paulo is loosing and he is not quite happy about that.
Joey, seriously you have to have Punkin on diet. She has bad hip connection and getting fat is not good.

I am not exadulating when I say everything is so sweet!!! Ask Cecilia or Tim. Everything is so sweet. Evan continues to ask me to have a bite and I hate that. Because they are either coconut flavor or pure sugar.
Well nothing to report or write anymore. I know it is getting boring but weekend is like this. Evan went to the office to pick up something and I asked him to get gardinia but he didn't. I guess I have to do that tomorrow. I really hope they have no video camera outside. Lady missionary holding punkin picking gardinia as soon as they bloom is not great.
